7e
From Paris Hotels Reviews
7e
The proudest possession of the 7e (septième) arrondissement, the Eiffel Tower, lies at its westernmost edge. It offers the most exhilarating vistas in the city, while the area at its feet, to the east, is worth exploring for the classy shops and restaurants around rue Clar and the lavish new museum of ”primitive” art, the Musée du Quai Branly. Much of athe rest of this quarter is dominated by monumental government buildings and the military edifies of the Ecole Militaire and Hôtel des Invalides, the latter housing the impressive war museum and appropriately enough, the tomb of Napoleon. Tucked away in the streets towards St-Germain, the Musèe Rodin shows off the sculptor’s works in the intimate surroundings of a handsome private hotel, or mansions house. Note that the easternmost end of the 7e, including the Musee d’Orsay, is covered elsewhere.
