Musee National d’Art Moderne
From Paris Hotels Reviews
Thanks to an astute acquisition policy and some generous gifts, the Musee National d’Art Moderne is near-complete visual essay on the history of twentieth-century art and is so large that only a fraction of the 58,000 works are on display at any one time (they’re frequently rotated). The fifth floor covers 1905 to 1960, while the fourth floor brings the collection from 1960 to the present day. Your ticket is valid for a single visit only, so you can’t, for example, pop out for a break in one of the centre’s cafés and re-enter. The collection is densely and efficiently organized, so, unlike many of the more unwieldy museums in Paris, half a day is probably enough for a comfortable, rewarding visit.
